5. Caffe Lucca
Located in beautiful Old Towne Orange, just a few steps away from the historic Plaza Square and Plaza Park. The decore and style is inspired by the small Italian town of Lucca.
The gelato is a must try, but it’s really the cappuccinos that keep me coming back.
4. Cafe Calacas
This is definitely for the hipster in you. I’ve been drinking Mexican cafe de olla since I was a kid; now, thanks to the whole hipster movement it has become somewhat of a thing.
This is my favorite Mexican Cafeteria in Orange County. My favorites here are the Horchata Latte and the Mexican Chai.
Address: 324 W 4th St., Santa Ana, California 92701
3. Lost Bean
This comfortable little coffee shop is located right off Newport Avenue. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is very calm. Whether you enjoy the indoor or outdoor seating, you’ll feel right at home.
2. Kean Coffee
For the Coffee connoisseur, there is Kean Coffee. It specializes in fine organic and fair trade specialty coffees from around the world.
Being from Colombia, I can really appreciate the freshness and professional roasting.
1. Portola Coffee Lab
At number one coffee shop in OC, I’ve got the 2015 Roaster of the Year, Portola Coffee Lab. It has the word Lab in the name because that’s exactly what it is. It’s a coffee laboratory where owner and roastmaster, Jeff Duggan, travels to Africa, South America and Central America every year in search of the world’s best coffee.
Even if you know nothing about coffee, you can go into the Lab order something off the menu and you’ll note the difference.
