Staycation: Catalina Island

People cross the the whole country just to get to Southern California. Why? Because it’s awesome; there are so many things to do here; in my 23 years of living here I still have not done them all. In this month’s Staycation we are highlighting Catalina Island. Let’s go over a couple epic activities. Activities in Catalina Island There are plenty of activities to do in Catalina Island. Here we highlight our two favorite things to do whenever we visit the island. Flying Fish Voyage Have you guys ever seen someone flying fish? It is something that will instantly mesmerized you. Its pretty much one of those things you have to see to believe. The cruise takes place at night aboard the open-deck Blanche W. The boat has searchlights that are used to spotlight the fish as they glide over the water. It’s a very majestic experience that has to be seen in person. The spotlights are what entice the fish to jump out of the water and put on a show for the people on board the ship. Zipline Eco Tour This is one of the highest rated activities in the island on review sites. There are 5 separate ziplines that drop from 600 feet above sea level all the way down to the beach. This activity is not for the faint of heart, you can reach a max speed of up to 40 mph, so this one is mostly for the adrenaline junkies. The tour begins at the Hogs Back gate which is located high up in the hills near Avalon. Later, you will begin your descent...

Staycation: Dana Point

So you’ve just set-up a date night but don’t necessarily have a solid game plan on where to go yet. If you’ve just asked out someone for the first time, double congratulations on temporarily conquering your nerves and just going for it. However, I’m sorry to say, that’s only half the battle. You now need a lovely day together but don’t want to break the bank in the process. We’ve got you covered. The featured location for this staycation is in the beautiful heart of Dana Point, Orange County. Even if you lack the experience to properly “wine and dine” someone, take comfort in the fact that you can use the following day plan to build a perfectly enjoyable, memorable itinerary. Feel free to change anything you want to cater to your own personal tastes, budget, and time constraints. By all means, modify anything and everything to get the most out of the following places. Let’s begin! What A Dish I think most will agree that, caffeine helps make conversations pop a little. With great coffee, I believe, laughter just sparkles a little bit more. Conversation becomes a little more engaging. Everyone who’s felt that caffeine buzz knows how beneficial it can be in a variety of social situations. Because coffee is such a pleasant start to good day plans, the first stop should be a quaint little cafe just a stone’s throw away from the harbor. I highly recommend the wonderful Cafe and Bistro, What a Dish. You can’t go wrong with getting some of their bold coffee and, perhaps, a plate or two of delicious food. What...
