Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

This past Saturday, Pub & Grub #2 went down at Goat Hill Tavern in Costa Mesa. Taco Dawg, Calbi, Dos Chinos, Piaggio On Wheels and Oh For Sweets Sake rolled on over to Newport Blvd. in front of Goat Hill. Azunia Tequila was on-site providing special drinks like the Red Rooster (delicious!). Shar Jackson (of Celebrity Fit Club and known for her role in TV show Moesha) stopped by to check out some of the trucks that will be at the big event this Saturday. Gourmet Food Trucks Feed The Hungry in Costa Mesa

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

On Moday 8/16 from 1-4 p.m., four Orange County gourmet food trucks, participated in the first Gourmet Food Truck Feed the Hungry event in Orange County. Taco Dawg, Dos Chinos, Morsels Baking Company and Tropical Shave Ice along with OC Foodie Fest sponsor Honest Tea were on-site feeding 300 soup kitchen patrons.

The Gourmet Food Truck Feed the Hungry Day was inspired by the OC Foodie Fest mission statement to celebrate the love of food and use its power to bring the community together. The local OC trucks took it upon themselves to extend that mission, using their amazing cuisine to generously give back to the local community to help those in need. The trucks will further support the local community when they participate with the 50 food trucks at the OC Foodie Fest on 8/28 to support Pretend City Children’s Museum, Child S.H.A.R.E. and St. Vincent’s Meals on Wheels.

Meet Our Food Trucks | Dos Chinos

Friday, July 30th, 2010

When asked what he’d consider to be his signature dish, Hop Phan from Dos Chinos responded, “I always tell [people] that it’s like asking a parent which child is their favorite.” With dishes like Bolsa Roast Pork Belly and Garden Grove Short Rib to choose from, it’s easy to see why it’s so difficult for this local boy to narrow down to just one choice. Eventually he broke down and said it was a tossup between that pork belly (which he feels ties in best to his Vietnamese heritage) and the Oahu Shrimp, which is paired with pineapple salsa and brings back memories of shrimp trucks in Hawaii.
